Yo readers!
Went to East Coast Park on Monday ( 19th of Jan 2009 ), with Briscillia, Chia Hwee and Joshua.
What a fun day it was! It was also energy-draining and i think i'm gonna have muscle ache pretty soon. Argh! But it's worth it :p
Meeting time was at 10AM, but Bris the organizer (somewhat) reached Compass Point only at 10.30AM! ZOMG! But anyway, not as bad as Clare, as stated by CHIA HWEE *wink*. :D
We then went to have breakfast at McDonald's and took the bus 43 to our intended destination. The bus ride was awesome as we joked and all. SOme parts of the road were really bumpy. I think that the area that we went pass by was some kinda old estate. Anyways, It took about an hour to reach and we spent a loooooong time trying to find the underpass that led to East Coast Park. We decided to ask the passer-bys but their information was pretty messy and all but at least, we found the underpass in the end.
When we were at East Coast Park, we walked pretty far to the bicycle kiosk ( as we were noobs and didn't know our way). We had to walk form Area D to Area F, which was in fact pretty far, even though Singapore is just a small little red dot on the World Map. The sum we paid for the bicycles was actually pretty cheap. $10 for 4 hours, except for Bris, who got a different bike with a more cushioned seat At $12 for 4 hours.
Cycling was a breeze. So fun to explore around and enjoy the scenery. Once, we stopped by a pavillion and went to the 7-11 to buy 2 Big Gulps. To my dismay, the one where Chia Hwee and I shared were filled with ants. Eventually, all 4 shared 1 Big Gulp. We played Bridge for like 3 games and Me and Chia Hwee won 2 rounds. The other pair only won 1 round ( aww, how sad. )
At first, Bris decided to come up with a forfeit for the losers cos she and josh won the 1st round. In the end CH and I came up with a brilliant forfeit for the other pair. That is to kiss each other! :D Of course, they didn't do it. CH and I found countless opportunities for them to do it. But oh well, they didn't. But anyway, it was expected.
After bicycle riding, Bris and I decided to try out the Inline Skates. It was more difficult that i thought it was to be. Guess i really shouldn't underestimate anything. CH decided to join in after seeing Bris and I having so much fun trying to skate! He was the fastest learner. By the end of the 2 hours, he was skating like a pro. Bris also had the hang of it. While i, pitiful as i was, always got off balance. =.=
Well, we all got our fair share of falls and bruises, but it was worth it and fun! We weren't hurt really bad. Just maybe some minor Blue-blacks as they call it. During our skating period, some assholes went pass us and laughed at us ( due to the fact that we weren't professionals ). Damn, i really wished to trip and make those ****ing ****s fall flat on their faces, hard. Then, i'd give the evil laugh and skate off. ****ers, everyone started from being a newbie, i do not understand why such imbeciles would laugh at others for being newbies.
Talking about falling flat on their faces, There was this Cable-Ski thingy in the East Coast Park. It was like a huge pool of water like 2 football fields or so, maybe. it's actually for wakeboarding and the people are pulled by the cable from high up. So, there were no manned boats pulling them. There was this guy, he jumped off the ramp and for the first few moments, i thought he was gonna do some uber cool trick. But then, he mistimed his movements and fell flat on the surface of the water. "OUCH!" I'd say. Anyways, wakeboarding seems pretty much fun! Maybe i should try it out someday.
After inline skating, we walked to the huge hawker centre which was totally far away from all the rental shops. My feet felt like it was breaking anytime soon due to the skates. Eventually, we reached the hawker centre after what seemed like 45149136128 minutes. At least, we chatted about stuff and all, making the walk more eventful! We forked out all the remaining sum of money we had in our wallets and went to order food. We ate BBQ Stingray, BBQ Sotong, Fried Kway Teow, Fried Hokkien Mee, Baby KaiLan, along with some rice and drank Grass-jelly! It was a sumptuous meal and everyone was satisfied! We finished dinner at 10pm and the park was like totally dimly lighted. We walked to the underpass and sat bus 43 back.
Halfway through, we saw Chermel! Surprise surprise! She was heading home from work. Then the 4 of us decided to to get off at Serangoon MRT Station since all of lived at different areas of Singapore. Reached home at near 12am. Was pretty much falling asleep during the bus ride home. So that was an Eventful Day at East Coast Park. I'm gonna go back to East Coast Park some other day to try to skate again! I will try to master inline skating by then! :D
PEACE,
